The pic of the production line is hilarious to me. It looks like a couple of guys putting together a table from Ikea.

So you post weld cell for a vehicle that is built at 100k units a year and compare it to a final inspection station... Okay

What happens the first time the grid goes down and people can't charge their cars to get to the necessities in life? They will go back to gas power.

UPS and generator backup at charging stations... there won't be some mass grid disturbance that causes the majority of North America to immediately require going back to gas.

I hate EV's as much as the next guy but come on..

The better question is how much is that special assessment from the power company when every house on the block adds a 240v40amp circuit to charge these things. Hell what if they add 2 and the service for the communities can't handle the new load.

I was told building code is going to require 350 amp service on new homes.

Just for the sake of simplifying a complex endeavor. Every single manufacturer could commit to building a time machine or a colony on Mars. That's doesn't make it a reality. Maybe in 30 or 40 years EV's will become mainstream, but I doubt it.

Well for 99% of the country when every house on the block plugs in after work you're going to see that powerline start to glow right before your TV and fridge burn out.

Fancy word for fake leather. Aka synthetic leather aka plastic leather.
"Vegan" leather also in Hummer EV, Volvo XC40 EV, and the CUV EV from Ford.

https://what-is-vegetarian-leather
Back in the 80's Mercedes called it MB-Tex.

Synthetic is superior for vehicle application and it's what is used on motorcycle seats.

Calling it "vegan" is just virtue signalling.

Gasoline pumps use electricity as well. If the grid goes down, you can't use the gas pumps either.

They can commit all they want, but none of the main issues are being addressed. Like for example, raw materials. Both availability, cost and recycling. Among many other elephant size issues. Facts are we are being told they’re the future by people who are incapable of solving these issues hoping they will be. Hopes, dreams and force is powering the EV push.
