Already tried Green Mesquite, Iron Works, and Fonda San Miguel. I'm here until Saturday at 6am. Anyone got any other suggestions? Wasn't a huge fan of Green Mesquite, but thought Iron Works was really good, as was the Mexican place.

I've heard Franklin has the best brisket anywhere, but I can't wait on Lin for two hours. I drove past Torchys, I'll have to try it.

+1 on Oasis on the Lake

Pluckers Wing Bar has the best wings in Texas...

Take a walk down town. Even the dives have great food and cool atmosphere..

All of the places named are great! Oasis is a drive from Austin. The two I would add would be Trudy's and Kerbey lane

Matts El Rancho... get there now...

Oasis is nice, but very touristy. I used to work there. Overpriced, but your paying for the amazing view. Def cool to try out. The view really is worth the drive, esp with the weather right now! Make sure you ask for a rail seat. If you can get the crows nest, even better.

El Arroyo
Z Tejas
Hoovers (on Manor)
Hopdoddys on Congress is pretty cool for burgers. Home Slice is down there too.
Hula Hut is a cool place to booze.
Iron Cactus

Salt Lick is def worth the drive.

Theres endless places to go. As others have said, go take a walk down 6th or South congress (just over the river) Tons of cool places everywhere.

Salt Lick the meat is good, the sauce is ok, the sides suck ass. There is a Salt Lick in Round Rock now so you don't have to drive all the way out to the original one.

Rudys is good all around food. and their sides beat the salt lick by a mile. there is one of them in Round rock as well.

if you like Tex-Mex chuys is good.

Trudy's is meh not my favorite place to go.

The monument cafe in Georgetown is freaking awesome.

The Oasis it good and the view spectacular.

the best burger buy far that I have had in 11 years in Austin is the KONA grill in The Domain. Their Kona burger is to die for.

if you like italian there is a little place in round rock called GINO's On mays.

Katz's is really good if you like New York Deli kind of stuff.
