Hey guys,

What diameter pipe? And length of pipe? Do i need to perform a resonator delete on a 2013 mustang GT. I'm getting some conflicting info in my search

Current setup is stock with gt500 ABs

Also does pipe material matter?

Thanks!

slow poke,

Stock pipe is 2.75" dia.

Stock piping is stainless steel (409?) so I suggest sticking with stainless tubing (304 or 409). Aluminized pieces can be used but carbon steel and stainless steel will corrode at the joint (there is condensed water in the exhaust system and that helps corrosion to occur).

As far as length, you can expect about 12" to 14" on each side.

An alternate to cutting/replacing is to buy OTA (over the axle) pipes. These are 304 stainless steel, 2.75" dia., and mandrel bent so there are no squished parts in the bends. The price is about $350 or so (Lethal Performance) and easy to install (although getting the stock OTA pipes out takes some effort if working on the garage floor).

HTH,

Chris

Do the OTA pipes. Wait for a sale. I picked mine up for $275 shipped for Borlas. I also did an aftermarket Hpipe. Love the sound with the GT500 mufflers
