While backing the car into the garage today after a spirited drive I noticed antifreeze on the floor. Got her up on the lift and it looks as though it’s coming from the bottom of the coolant reservoir ( where the hose meets the tank ) is this common?

The cap is probably the most common failure but the tanks are old at this point. I’d look real close and make sure it’s not running down from the top

i run a screw clamp on that hose at the bottom of the tank and it always seems to need extra turn to stop it from leaking after doing some work.

i've had a few caps leak over the years as well.

never had an actual reservoir leak, but they sure can get dirty so i've replaced a couple.

Not that uncommon. That spot tends to get hot, old, brittle, and crack. But check all the other possible sources as well- including the cap and seam on the tank.
