Remanufactured engine assembly question

I just got a cobra and the engine was replaced with a ford remanufactured engine assembly back in January. I am wondering how to check to see if this motor has the updated cylinder heads on it.

Get underneath the car and read the casting date.

I don't know if the different logo is an absolute indicator of latest revision heads (JANUARY 2005)

if it was just done in jan 09 should have the revised heads.
its my understanding all the remans sold now have them as well as they are the only head ford will sell for an oem application.

i was told all the non 05 revised heads that are being turned in as cores get destroyed due the the effed up casting so they don't get recirculated back to the public.

Can you buy a remanufactured 03 engine without a core? I assume you cant due to the fact that they would be looking to rebuild the core.
