I have a distinct whine in the rearend now after the car runs for about 50 miles. Is this something that is normal or are they suppose to be quiet all the time like my 96 GT for example ? Mine was one of those cars that had the vibration around 80 mph when it was new and one of the things they did was to change out the gears. I wonder if they forgot to do something when they were in there. Any feedback would be appreciated ;-)

Should be quiet. It won't quit when it breaks in either. The pinion depth is wrong and once it is run they can't go back and fix it without putting in a new ring n pinion.

have you checked the level of gear lube?

there have been some underfilled differentials reported here

I remember one person saying that when he took it in for service, they found it to be bone dry :uh oh:
