Looking for a rear wheel disc brake conversion for a 94. Any ideas on who makes one? I checked with Baer and they advised that the Gen 1's were a one off set but I am not sure. Looking for some help, please. Thanks

Guys do an explorer 8.8 conversion. There is a how-to on the nloc, but it does not seem very popular, as the general consensus tends to be that the drums get the job done. I was just searching about this very same topic too because I would prefer discs as well. I think if I remember correctly, the only thing that needs to be done is redrilling for our bolt pattern.

Discs

Do you think the 96-newer F-150 axles w/discs would work. It will change the wheel bolt pattern but will it work? I remember seeing a Ford 8.8 rear disc set by Ford Racing but I am not sure if it is still around.

If I can get an explorer rear assembly, I'd more than likely do this. Total cost plus machine work would be about $500 dependant on many variables. Call me crazy, but I just don't like the drums. I'm also considering calling fatman fab to see how much it would cost to get the mustang II stuff to replace our stock setup. This is of course when I have money...I tend to make "wish lists" if you will :D

 Seems like alot of work, time and effort and the cons of the Explorer conversion outwiegh the pros. Not that it wont be worth it if it is done correctly. I really like the rear disc look especially with my Gen 2 rims but I guess I am starting to become very skeptical. Any one out there with rear discs on the Gen 1's? If so, show some pics if you do!!!! It would go a long way for motivating. :??:

There are only a few who have done it on the nloc. Most are in Cali where the originator of the idea (MJ351 on the nloc) lives and have done the machine work for him. I think he has a few pics in his gallery besides the ones in the article.

I have been asking and looking for the samething "rear disc brakes". I have not gone any further on this because I am not in the U.S at the moment. But I did find a few web sites that could help us on this. There is a measurement that I need to do so that I could decide which one I will use. If anybody is willing to this for me since I cannot get to my truck at the moment I would be greatful. Look at these web site and you will know what I mean about the measurement.
