I just recently purchased a 2015 Hellcat. I am not going to name this a "build thread" because nothing is going to be "built" on this car (motor, trans, etc.)

Nonetheless, I did want to have a thread to show the progression of my newly acquired toy and the modifications that I will make to it.

So here are some pics...

The car is a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat
-Pitch Black Exterior
-Red Interior
-Nav
-Factory "Brass Monkey" Finish wheels
-6 Speed Manual
-396 miles

Anyways, some may ask, why name this project "Undertaker"? Well, to those who do not know me, I am a 25 year old, 3rd Generation Funeral Director. Of course, I had to buy a black Hellcat and I thought the name was fitting.

I purchased the car a few weeks ago and took delivery of her on 2/16/18. She came from Killeen, TX and made the journey here to Waterbury, CT.

My plans for this car is to just be a fun street car, maybe occasionally go to the track.

So far I have already purchased the following:

-Barton Short Throw Shifter w/ Black Handle and Black Knob
-Phillips Performance Little Devil Fender Flare Kit
-(Still waiting for both to arrive).

For those who don't know what the "little devil" fender flare kit is, here is a picture.

I am not a fan of the Demon Fender Flares which are also available as a factory option on 2018 + Hellcat's. These look straight badass in my opinion.

My next move is:
-20x11 rear wheels
-Drag Radials
-Paint Correction and Ceramic Coat
-Have Front Bumper Repainted to fill in plate holes
(Possibly Clear Bra the car if I can get a decent price)

After that I plan on doing:
-Driveshaft
-Differential Brace
-Intake
-Exhaust
-Lowering Springs

I think that'll be enough for the first year owning this bad boy. I cannot wait until the salt is cleared off of the roads and I can start enjoying this bad boy and finish breaking her in.

Thanks everyone,

Ray

Beautiful car, Ray.

No pulley?! Blasphemy.

Thank you sir. Maybe pulley next year lol. I would like to keep the factory warrantee at least one season lol.

I like those flares a lot more than the demon flares, subtle, but definitely noticeable....just not taking a stripper to church noticeable..

I can't wait to get them on.

have you removed the front plate bracket yet? how bad are the holes( really waddled? I would see how it looks with out them and see if you can live with them or put plugs in them- you only have factory paint once- nothing adheres like factory paint- but you are the one that has to live with it- mine came from IN. so it had holes when it arrived to mi(bought new) they are barely noticeable you have to look for them.

I did remove the bracket and it looks like ass. It would drive it absolutely insane to stare at those caps. I'd notice it every time I walked past the car.

Trust me, I have been tossing the idea around of the front bumper not being original paint, but I'd rather have it look nice then be original.

I like the more subtle flairs, too. I love the black paint. Sinister! You're going to really have a lot of fun and satisfaction from your Hellcat, Ray.

Not too many updates, but I did have some parts come in.

The Barton short throw is in, but I'm going to wait until I drive the car a little with the stock one before replacing this one so I can feel the difference.

I ordered 1" wheel spacers for the front wheels once the Phillips Little Devil Flares are installed.

I am still waiting to register the car, but hopefully next Thursday or Friday I can do that. Once it's registered I can bring the car to have clear bra PPF installed as well as having the car paint corrected and ceramic coated.

Then she'll be ready to his the streets!

I purchased M/T ET Streets 305/35/20 off a buddy of mine. He had them on his GT500 and wanted more of a street tire. They have less than 1,000 miles.

Now I just need to order rear wheels. Still trying to decide whether or not I want to go with 10.5" or 11" and what offset.

Also, I ordered the ZL1 Magpad so I don't mess my pinch welds up. Although I should hopefully have a lift in the next few months.

Your project Undertaker is progressing nicely, Ray. I was by the funeral home yesterday afternoon. As I entered I-84, I eye balled the parking lot and around back to see if maybe your Hellcat was there. ;)

Dont sweat the non-factory paint. I had the hood painted on my cobra due to my own **** up, and the paint job was much better than factory. Zero orange peel. Just get a quality shop to do a quality job and no one but you will know.

That's funny you say that Bob, last week I actually was having some electrical upgrades done to my garage and had the car parked outside all day under the car port!

How do those flares attach?

You use the factory locations where rivets are inserted to attach the inner fender liner. The flares themselves are molded to sit perfectly flush on the car. Here is a video that sort of shows it. If you go on Phillips Performance Website or watch the how-to video on his youtube channel, it goes into more detail.

That's what I say. I want to enjoy the car and have it be the way I want it to be. SAY NO TO PLATE HOLES haha.

A few more subtle updates.

I took the front bumper/facia off. The flares came in as well, so those are all at the body shop as we speak. I also ordered rear wheels from Factory Reproductions. They are 20x10.5 w/ 25mm offset. From what I have researched, they are the best fit without major modifications and are also the closest match to the factory brass monkey wheel color. Sadly there wasn't a better offset option so I will more than likely have to run some sort of spacer. Oh-well.

On a side note...my cousin works for Stanley Black & Decker, and I got a too-good-to-be-true deal on some tools I've always wanted. I got a 3/8" Impact and a 1/2", also came with a LED light, 2 Batteries, charger and travel bag.

I also ordered a 1/4" impact, a drill, impact socket set, and a electric leaf blower so I can dry the car off without having to smell like gas. The second shipment of parts haven't come in yet. It's like Christmas!

I made an appointment to have the clear bra installed on 3/15/18. I am doing the front bumper/facia, the entire hood, both front fenders, mirrors, and rocker panels. Using the XPEL PPF. After that, paint correction, ceramic coating (entire car, glass, wheels, brakes, etc.) then going to install the flares and wheels.

I want to drive the car so bad. We are expecting 6-12" of snow Wednesday so that makes things a little easier to deal with.
