I have to apologize for newb-level ignorance of tuners...

so it's listed as "03-04" but won't work on an 04?

everywhere I see the raptor for sale as a new item it says they're for "Ford 96-05 OBD-II Vehicles"

I have an 04 and would really prefer the raptor for it's datalogging prowess. what prompted you to call SCT and did they give you any details as to why it won't work on an 04?

Well this is what happened:
I placed the ad, then somebody asked me if it would work with an 05 mustang. I emailed ryan at SCT and he said it works with all cars up to '04 except the "can" vehicles. Sorry I don't have anymore detail than that.

I honestly don't think this is at all a newb question either. Just a not well documented case of what works with what. I've never tried the Raptor with an '04 so I'm sorry to say I can't tell you from first hand experience what is up.

Why do you not want an Xcal2?
