So I actually had time yesterday to drive the car for the first time since putting the resonators on. They definitely made a huge difference inside the cabin. The exhaust isn’t nearly as harsh. It sounds decent, though still loud. I wish I would have gone with the 10” resonator instead of the 7” but I was concerned with room on the midpipe. Which there ended up being plenty to do the larger resonators.

I’m excited for the bassani set up to get here it should be perfect for me.

Yep I did my entire trunk and pulled the back seat and did underneath that and the floor. Minimal difference at best. Almost not worth the effort

Good to know. I was thinking of doing the floor when I change the carpet out

I put some Corsa mufflers in my Magnaflow catback and they're very quite at cruise and idle, but are down right nasty at WOT. This is with resonators welded in, instead of cats.

I have a borla touring in the basement and like the sound but it droned pretty good.

Here’s two comparison videos of my car pre and post muffler install. I will admit the one with the SLP loudmouth sounds far nastier at idle, but it was completely undrivable. I’ll see if I can get some more audio samples when it warms up.
honestly the quieter idle sounds better. the sound is full and rich, not just loud and hollow. is this just the ultra quiet resonators in place of the slp's or added in addition to?

That’s exactly how I’d describe it in person.
The SLPs were cut out and the ultra quiet’s were installed in their place. They make a few different lengths, I believe mine are around 20”.

The kooks cats are worth it just for the sound alone. It takes the harshness out of it. They just cost a shit load. i felt my car was down on power after switching to bassani from the borla.
Bringing this up again because I want to turn it down a bit more. Did you do the cats on yours and notice a big volume difference? I’m debating on cats vs adding another set of resonators.

At what point do you just bite the bullet and put a stock catback back on?
Fair point lol. I’m getting the resonators put on next Friday that someone in this thread had done, the ones tucked up where the tips go. I’m only looking for a 10-20% more sound reduction and I’ll be good. The resonators, at $500 installed, is a lot easier to chew on than $2k for cats.

Well, took @olympic advice and had the Vibrant ultra quiet resonators welded in where the tips are. Mine are 3” v/s his 2.5 but same idea. My exhaust ship was able to turn them sideways without modifying the charcoal canister and they are tucked up way under there. It is the PERFECT sound that I was looking for. I’ll get some videos up at some point. Like he said in his post, I can’t believe the sound difference from just these at the tips and, like him, I can finally hear the blower! Highly recommended if anyone is looking to quiet it down and smooth out the harshness.

Nice, clean install! I'm trying to remember why I mounted the resonators vertically, I think it was a clearance issue with the gas tank on the passenger side. Just a slight difference in the shape/routing of different catbacks I guess. I'm glad it worked out and you're happy with it!

My 14 Shelby hits a bit of rasp during a certain RPM that I'm not happy with. It's got Kooks headers and H Pipe with Corsa Axle's. Curious if I weld in some Bassani resonators if it would help like it did on my last Mustang. It was crazy bad though, this not so much. I may put the stock mufflers back on and see how that sounds.

My tips before were baffled Bassani tips. These resonators are straight through design also and really eliminate the harsh frequency range a lot of these 4.6 motors have without affecting any power.

do you have 4 of the same resonator or are the mufflers underneath, different than the resonators at the back?

i'd love to hear and updated video

Updated video for you. You need headphones to get an idea of how deep the sound is, a phone speaker won’t do it. 100% of the usual Mustang hollow and raspy sound is gone. There’s none. When I rip on it it opens up and is loud, but cruising around it’s enough to hear without ringing your ears.

And to answer your question, I have the full size Vibrant mufflers underneath, and the smaller resonators where the tips are. Everything is 3” stainless.
