I have a quick ? Will the input shaft from a 90 t-5 fit in the 94-95 t-5? I was putting a t-5 from a 94 or 95 in my buddys 90 and found out the hard way that the input shaft is about 1 inch longer!:gt:

He does not have the bell housing so I am going to change out input shafts if I get yes it will work. Of course ford has no clue!

Well thanks for any input.

I have run into this problem. The pre 94 5.0s bellhousing and trannys are shorter than the 94-95s. As far as the input shaft is concerned they are the same strength, diameter, tooth count and all for the V-8 T-5s, except the length. I had to fab a small plate that bolted to my stock crossmember and trans so I wouldn't have to futz with moving the support and also the shifter will fit just fine too. If I remember right the input shaft should have a 19 tooth count. Hope this helps ya.

Installation:

1: Use the early model bellhousing
2: Use the early model clutch fork
3: and get a good pilot bearing
4: Use atf dexron mercon 3 to fill need 3 quarts
