I just got done installing the qa-1's on the front of my '99L. I found it was alot easier and quicker to not put the jack stands under the lower control arm. I put one under the frame for safety, and used my cheapo floor jack to hold the truck up. After you remove the stock shock, use your stock jack under the control arm and lift up about 3 turns and they slip right in. The shock nuts on mine were 7/8 top and 13/16 under the top one. Other than that everything else was right on the money.
