Only have a 1,000 miles on my new 2019, but determined my velocity blue GT is a keeper for sure. Am disappointed I already picked up 3 paint chips on the front, but that is the nature of living where they spread sand and salt.

Decided to pony up and have the entire front, hood, front fenders, A pillars and rear bumper wrapped with Xpel Ultimate and have EXO V4 applied. Not sure on the exact order that will be applied, LOL, but decided the cost was worth keeping the car looking good for years down the road. Will probably take it to be detailed every spring by the same shop. I pretty much use a bucket wash during the summer and touchless car wash in the winter. I like a clean car, but just not into the effort involved by the really serious car wash guys on here.

Depending on the "size" of the Rock Chips, I have had good luck with Dr. Color Chip.

The order I'd do it in...

Have your detailer fix the rock chips with Dr. Color Chip.
Have him polish the paint first to remove fine scratches and swirl marks.

Then take it to the Paint Protection Film (PPF) guy and have it wrapped.
This makes sense. You do NOT want to put PPF on top of fine scratches.

Then take it back to the detailer and have them coat on top of the PPF and exposed paint surfaces.
Most PPF and ceramic coatings play well in the sandbox together and can be applied on top of PPF.
Unless one guy "does it all" then it is worth the back and forth trips to do this in the right order.

NOTE: If you clay bar on top of a coating you can mess up the coating.

The shop owner brings the film guy out to shop and all work will be done at his shop. Your order of work sounds like what will be done to the car.

You're smart doing this. It's an expense, but one that will pay dividends in that it will great help to keep your good looking 2019 GT looking, well, GOOD!

I just pickup on my new 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T on Friday, so I am in the process of hooking up with a local detailer to ceramic coat it. Hopefully this Friday. The sooner the better. I'm with you on protecting the finish as much as possible when you plan on keeping it for awhile.

Your shop did an amazing job. I'll bet you're feeling really good about it. As well you should.

Wow amazing work! What's a job like this cost?

To apply the film by itself to the entire front, front fenders, entire hood, leading edge of roof, rockers, a pillars and trunk is $3,100.

To correct and coat with 2 year warranty was $600 plus some touch up paint and labor to touch up. To coat the wheels and glass was another $200.

Wow, definitely not cheap, but it will be worth that and more long term for the paint protection. How long is the warrantee?

2 years on the paint protect. Hoping to get 7-10 years out of the film. Winter is damn tough on film up here, we will see.

All done and picked up today, very happy.
