In case anyone wants a good way to log your run with wideband through the XCAL or livewire with ease, VMP sells these cables for easy hookup. I use a X3 and a AEM wideband to be able to tune properly.

i don't understand what you are saying exactly?

is this something to connect to a wideband to datalog it?

because the X3 has datalogging built into it already

Yes, and i`m pretty sure he`s talking about using ''Livelink'' to log with.

ok im kinda confused...is the oem o2 sensor not good enuf for tuning?
The factory O2 sensors are "Narrow Band" and only monitor small changes.

You use the factory O2 sensors to help you tune Short Term Fuel Trims.

You need a good "Wideband" O2 sensor to properly tune for wide open throttle.

Advance Auto Parts: Wideband A/F Oxygen Sensor by Bosch - Part 17014
That is just for the sensor. You still need to have a controler for it.

Here's an example.

Yes. A good tuner should be able to get the car to idle properly with a base tune.

for the record, you can just buy a DIN or a firewire cable from amazon for literally 75% of the cost from VMP's site.

worked fine for me.

Sorry for the delay in response, internet was messed up. Yes, the cable is used for using livelink to view runs with a wideband reading as noted up top. This is the most accurate way to tune a car, as just going off narrow band voltage may not be as accurate.

Good to know, thanks.
