I did a lot of research and thought I had it figured out before I bought some rims.

I have a 2013 GT convertible that is lowered (bought it that way and not sure if it is 1 or 1.5").

I bought some +35 offset 20" x 9.5" rims.

They have Nitto 305/35 drag radials which should be on a wider rim (recommended 10").

They rub. What are the best options? I don't have a lot of cash and bought these for looks only. Would a car that was lowered less in the rear still rub?

Guys correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the rim isn't wide enough for the tire and the wheel doesn't have the right offset. Shouldn't it be +55 for a 305/35/20?

yeah a 305 should be on a 10.5" wheel minimum, with significantly more offset. Your options are:
Get a smaller tire
Get a wider wheel with correct offset
Raise the ride height

I've ran the same tire on a 9.5" wheel but with a 40mm offset. I'm only lowered on 55D springs though. It's about 5/8-3/4 lower than stock.

Rubbing on the tire on the fender.

Here is the car these came off of. He swore they didn't rub and said he used to run a 315 on these. It is a 2012 GT500.

He sold the car with the stock rims and I bought the aftermarket ones.

You should use a wider wheel. I had this issue as well and I change the wheels to 10.5" and clearance issues were gone.
I think if you'll return to stock height you'll be fine as well

I am thinking of a smaller tire. Those drag radials are bad ass looking, but the wheels are discontinued and were custom painted.

What size tire should I go with since the car is so low? A 285 or 285? I want to get Nitto to match the fronts. The rear tires had about 100 miles on them, mother checked out with a tread depth gauge at the 6/32 that they should have when new. They were $375 each new. What would they be worth having been mounted? Where best to sell other then Craigslist?

I run a 305/35-20 on my '11 GT just fine. Lowered on SR springs (1.5" drop). However, my rear wheels are 20x11 with a +55 offset.

Does it rub on both sides? Pictures are only of the driver side. Do you know if the previous owner installed an adjustable panhard bar when they lowered it? Could be that your axle is out of center. If not, another option would be to pull the fenders. There's no coming back from that though. Check out 101blur on instagram. Oh and beautiful car btw!! Gotta love the red interior on a black convertible look.

I do have the adjustable pan hard bar and the stock rims were centered. I never put the passenger side red wheel on as the drivers side was so off.

I don't know if pulling the fenders would work. See where it is rubbing

I'd run a 285 max on a 9.5 unless you have some extra offset (you don't on these). My 275s fit my 9.5 wheel perfectly. The car those wheels used to be on looks like it was near or at stock height, so that's why he didn't rub.

This this this.

You have too much tire, not enough wheel and not enough offset for what you're trying to do.

yeah, I am going to put the 305s up for sale and get 275/35 r20. that is what is on the front on a 8.5" rim. how will they look compared to them when mounted on the 9.5" rim?

This car looks close to stock height and your car looks more like a 2 inch drop in the rear. I have a 1.5 drop and I easily have a 1-2 finger gap

Beware that the 275 35 might look a bit small or leave you with more wheel gap than you might prefer. I think 285 35 are the perfect size but probably not optimal on a 9.5 wheel. I run this size but on a 19x10 and am lowered on Steeda sport springs. No issues.

The tires I have for the front only come in a 285/40 shock is shorter the. The 275/35 according to an online tire size program I found.

The rears will be on a 9.5" wide 35 offset vs the front on a 8.5 32mm offset

Same tire front and back. How will that look?

Right now my stock wheels are all the same with a 1" spacer on all 4 wheels and look good.
