Looks good TXEnginerd. I did this with my pro5.0 and it was one of the best mods I've done to my car so far.

I did this with my Tri-Ax. I had to modify the bolt holes but otherwise it fit perfectly. What a difference! I can actually sit relaxed in my seat and hit all the gears now. This rocks.

And my apologies for the old-thread revive but this mod definitely warrants it. Plus I told the OP I would post my results.

Very nice. I'm glad you like it!!

First post edited to include links to templates. Enjoy guys.

Glad you guys bumped this up. I thought something was wrong with me because I kept slamming my knuckles into the radio, lol. Will def add this to my list of things to do.

Prolly a stupid question but will those brackets from Summit and Brothers performance work with the Pro 50? I assume they will but want to verify before I order

steeda makes these..for those who don't have a shop to make some on their own..
Steeda Short Throw Shifter Offset Handle Brackets - $20.99 - Brothers Performance 800-486-2681
Steeda TKO and Hurst Offset Handle Brackets 555-7070 - SummitRacing.com

It's about $25 for a machine shop to make AL billit ones..and they can be offset to raise the shifter up as well..if you like. ( had some made for me)

The brackets can be stacked or moved more to the left by stacking washers on each bolt too..

Will the summit racing one work for a mgw orange? If so, I am sold!

Hey guys. After doing a little bit of searching around I dont think that those brackets that Summit and Steeda have will work on our Pro 50 shifter. They are cut even and dont have the offset cut in it like the ones in the templates do. Im pretty sure they will hit the base of the shifter when you shift to 2nd and 4th. I am going to get in touch with a couple of local machine shops and see I can get a set made using the template supplied in the first post.

I did a similar set up to my pro 5.0 but just used 1/2' x 2 x 4 alum flat stock. drilled 4 holes, even added a little angle to it and it made a world of difference in the shifter. It is as far back as it can come as it is tight to the boot/plastic when in even gears.

I used the template supplied in this thread and had the adapters locally made. This weekend I had a chance to drive the car a bit. These brackets make shifting so much easier. I dont have to leam over to shift to 3rd and 5th now. I wanted to bump this up in case someone has not seen this. If you have a 5.0 shifter this is something you should definitely do!!

For you guys with the pro5.0 you may want one of these lower shift boots.

I have one in my street rod that has a pro5.0 mounted on a T5. I added one because I remember my buddy having issues with the pro5.0 leaking out the top in his old fbody, not a lot but a film would show up. It was pretty common in the fbody community. I think people would cut socks or something to put over the top. The boot is made by hurst and costs about $15.

I might have to do this shifter mod later.
