Hey kind of a dumb question but I need help removing the power distribution box on my 2003 mustang cobra. I went to loosen the stud on the box and of course I heard a crack and tore some of the plastic and the stud gave some. I now want to remove the box to check it out and see if the damage is bad enough to have to replace. I cant find anything online for removal so I came in hoping for help. Thanks in advance..

A picture would help to understand exactly what you're talking about.

yeah, stud head sit between 2 pieces of plastic. Snap from over tightening the lock nut. everyone does it... usually end up jamming a flat head screwdriver, allow the stud head to rest on the flat blade and loosen the nut with a little impact driver / ratchet. You can pull the black slide cover off and see where the head sits.

It pops off the metal bracket with a screw driver. Need to dislodge both sides and it slides off. Push on the little tabs.

Problem lies with the wires. They extend all across the engine bay to the far side of the car. Factory, they go across the top of the radiator in a loom. Look up a wire tuck thread and it will show you how to remove it from the car. I did mine like 5 years ago so would e tough to remember everything.

I am 99% sure these are cobra specific because of the intercooler pump harness and stuff. Maybe able to swap the plastic but not sure.
