Okay all,

As some of you know I have been trying to improve the look of my engine bay. So, I removed my supercharger and some other parts in order to have them powder coated.

I thought about having my valve covers powder coated, but even with the supercharger off it was still looking like too much of a pain in the @$$ to remove them so, I cleaned them up and left them alone.

Here is my progress so far:

Engine before project:

Some pictures during disassembly (This is where some of you mentioned to upgrade my performance level. I went down the rabbit hole for a bit, but came back to my senses to complete this project instead LOL):

I had my dad hand paint the Ford and SVT for me:

I'm still waiting on some new PCV hoses to come in that connect to the back of the supercharger. Once I receive those I will put the supercharger back on and finish the installation.

Also, if you look closely you can see I'm also upgrading my bolts. You can see them on the supercharger snout above and here on my valve covers:

The guy who did it said the supercharger was a major pain in the @$$ because he had to very precise with it (I gave it to him complete so he had to take it apart) and he said it took a lot of his material for masking as well. He also bead blasted everything he could and acid dipped other parts.

So, based on the amount of time it took him and the amount of material/supplies he had to use he charged $450 for everything.

$450 for all that seems really fair/cheap to me. I know I paid about $200 or $250 just for my valve covers some years back.

^^^ I agree with you silverboost. He did a great job and did a lot of work. He is a retired guy that does this as a hobby. When I asked him how he decides price he said as long as he can buy powder and materials and he has enough left over for beer money he was good LOL.

I have no complaints at all and I'm very happy with the results so far. Can't wait to get it all back together.

Looking good! at first I thought you'd really end up dissapointed by not doing the valve covers. but with you doing everything in a clean silver the stock covers will still look good with it.

That looks good. I like how clean and simple it is.
Yeah, that is my exact take on it, too. Clean and simple. No heavy use of color, just a nice, clean silver finish that looks very factory. Color parts are nice, too, but it's nice to see parts done "clean and simple". Your work shows how nice everything can then work together. I'm impressed with how nice everything came out. Love that the blower was powder-coated silver, too. Nice!

Black Gold, can you post a photo of your engine bay when everything is assembled?
