Sorry I'm slow on the response...
    Notes:
    - I know you can vary the color greatly by using thinner or thicker coats of the Base Coat paint
I tried to use 4-5 thin coats thinking it may be a little lighter. Not sure if that worked or not.
    - Both the Highland Green and Ebony Black turned out pretty close though, I'm happy.
    - I just wanted a simple color matched license plate frame. By the time I was done, they got
expensive. However, I got what I wanted.
    - I don’t think that I used the adhesion promoter. Just Primer, Base Coat, Clear Coat.
    - I was concerned that the plastic caps were going to fall off. So I applied some clear silicone
adhesive to the inside of the plastic caps, pressed them on, and used blue painters tape to
hold them in place for a day or so.
    - Both my Mustangs are ’01’s.
    - Here’s where I ordered the paint from:

Pic of my black Cobra with a frame I painted and put on at the same time. Poor pic, but you get the idea.

    Material:
    A) 1 Can Rust-Oleum Hi-Temp Grey Primer Paint ~ 7$
    B) 1 Can Rust-Oleum Hi-Temp Low Gloss Black Paint ~ 7$
    C) 1 Jug Metal Rescue ~12$?
    D) 1 EGR Gasket from AutoNation ~7$?
    1) The before “rusty” EGR:

    IMG_0111.jpeg

    2) I applied penetrating oil a day ahead...

    IMG_0125.jpeg

    3) After carefully removing the two bolts, I loosened the tube connection and removed the rubber hose fitting.
Then I cleaned-up all the surfaces with a razor and Scotch-brite.

    IMG_0117.jpeg

    4) I poured the Metal Rescue in small container and submersed the cast portion of the EGR and the bolts.

    IMG_0123.jpeg

    5) The Metal Rescue removed most the rust but I helped it along with a Scotch-brite pad.
    It looked pretty good:

    6) EGR with the new Ford OEM gasket:

    IMG_0128.jpeg

    7) Installed, kinda. At first I wasn’t going to paint it, but:

    8) I got some high-temp primer (listed above):

    IMG_0151.jpeg

    9) Then the high-temp paint - low gloss black - like "low gloss" made a difference (LOL).
I must have put on about 3 or 4 coats of primer and paint:

    IMG_0160.jpeg

    10) Might as well paint the tubing too:

    IMG_0163.jpeg

    11) Installed!

    12) Close-up:

    13) After 1 year and ~4K miles:

    IMG_1100.jpeg

    14) After 2 years and ~9K miles:

    IMG_1221.jpeg

    15) For me, it was worth the minimal effort to get rid of a rusty part on the engine...

Metal Rescue is pretty cool stuff. It worked great.

That looks great and makes a big difference in the overall appearance of the engine bay.

Huge difference! One of those simple things that can get overlooked, but when you see the "after" photos you realize how smart it was to transform a rusted part that actually does stand out. Nice idea, and nice work!

Bullitt quarters are different than standard, so I found a seller on etsy that sold a rectangular, matte black colored, distressed American flag sheet. I cut a template, leveled some lines on the sheet so the flag stripes would be level with ground, and cut. I like the subtleness.
