Loving the strip pics! Nice ride.
How’d she run?

Thank you much! The DA was poop, and the weather was horrible. Was about 86 degrees. I live in Florida so that’s common. The MPH is there, just the time wasn’t. Best run was 12.6 @124. I’m running the car bone stock before I begin adding my fun parts. Want to get a baseline myself. Heard speculation from another GT500 at the track. There was something in the tune of the car that makes it bog off the line to prevent clutch wear? The car does tend to bog and then pick back up hence the MPH.

Yes! Clutch protection strategy! VERY annoying for a drag launch.
For reference my ‘14 stock down to paper air filter except 4.10s, Lund street 93 tune, 20” Shelby Alcoa wheels with Nitto DRs went 11.0@128 in decent weather but definitely not mineshaft.
Get a tune and it’ll eliminate the clutch protection

Ahh, so there is truth to that clutch thing. I gotcha, thanks for the info on that. That’s an amazing time! Would you say the 4.10 gears are daily driveable ?

I honestly forgot all about the clutch protection that is embedded in these cars from the factory.

A flood of discussion literally just resurfaced in my brain.

Did Lund remove the program on all tunes, or specifically on ones where that request was made?

I went with a 93 octane, (50 state legal exhaust), and 4.10 tune back in 2018? perhaps. Now I’m very curious about this subject.

When I got my tune from Lund I didn't specifically ask for removal of the clutch protection but when I questioned them about it later they said that they do remove it so yours is probably done.

My tune was uploaded by Lund Sr at the track in June 2013. At that time he asked me if I was fine with removing the clutch protection and we both agreed it’s definitely necessary to drag race.
I do remember reading that it became standard in their tunes but a simple email should clarify.
As for 4.10s and street 110% yes!
Car is SO much better on the street, in every condition and it’s only 2000rpm at 80mph on a 315/35/20.
