Beautiful GT-500! I'm really loving the paint, along with those wheels. The paint looks very pristine by the way.

Being in your own driveway as the owner is the best place!
I guess some cars need special locations to enhance their appearance. Yours is stunning no matter where your photo location is. Seriously, Rob. I look at your photo and I don't even notice the backdrop. Just your gem of a car. That one over the top 2014 GT-500.

That's a sad FACT! I lost my Z06 to a careless woman towing a boat with her full-size Dodge pickup in Rapid City, SD last August.Probably the safest too with all these dumbass drivers out there
I don't blame you for the bad memories and feelings! Unfortunately, some people make very ignorant decisions. The flip side is and best possible outcome is you're still here with us on SVTP my friend......and I'm grateful for that.......That's a sad FACT! I lost my Z06 to a careless woman towing a boat with her full-size Doge pickup in Rapid City, SD last August.

It took insurance four months to overcome their laughable initial (less than $20K) damage estimate, and conclude she was totalled, when my body shop's (still climbing) estimate topped $35K. I'm still sick to my stomach when I think about the loss, all because some stupid woman tailgated and misjudged stopping distance while towing.![]()
Norton..........where is there enough water in Rapid City to be able to float a boat. I was out there in 07 and from what I saw it is arid out there in the summer months and I spent a week out there during the motorcycle rally and didn't see any water in the many miles of riding I did sightseeing the area. That's a sad FACT! I lost my Z06 to a careless woman towing a boat with her full-size Dodge pickup in Rapid City, SD last August.

Sorry to see the car crunched, glad you walked away with no injuries.
Thanks, guys. The car did a great job of sacficing itself to protect us from serious injury - we had nothing more than some temporary soreness/stiffness, with no apparent lasting effects. We're thankful for that.Damn, I had no idea you lost your Z06, I'm sorry to see this. Did you ever replace it?

Damn, sucks that that happened, but very nice to see that you got an almost carbon-copy replacement for it. That happens VERY rarely!!![]()

In answer to your question, @Steve@RevanRacing, yes. I was confident mine would be totalled, but I knew it would never be the same, so I pulled the trigger on a replacement before she was gone. This was pure luck, since only 408 (<7%) of C7Zs were made in Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic and only about 30% of all C7Zs had 3-pedals and a 7-speed stick. My son, several friends, and I spent a couple of long nights moving most of my mods to the "new" one.

She doesn't "feel like mine" yet, though, as she went into hibernation before I could upgrade aero; get the paint corrected, PPFd, and ceramic-coated; and windows tinted. My Shelby is probably headed in for the new paint's long-awaited correction, PPF, and ceramic this month. The Z will come after that, giving me time to install aero parts that arrived over the winter. Lots to do before I can really enjoy either one, but I hope this summer is better than last...

I get where you're going with that. My Shelby was a unicorn for me. The only box it didn't check was stripe-delete, but it obviously wasn't a deal-breaker. IF something were to happen to it, I'd be devastated, but I don't know that I'd rush out and try to get another one, even if it was a different color.Perhaps this post is random,
I carry an agreed upon value policy for my Shelby and Mach. I may not find a carbon copy replica, but its one less thing I need to come unglued over if the insurance only wanted to give me "book value" for the car
I don't disagree with women driversClassic example of most women not needing to be behind the wheel of anything bigger than a Prius.
All the time I see em trying to step up to me and my f250 in the Publix parking lot when the husband let em out with the keys to the Explorer; thinking they own the road
EDIT: Apologies for not noticing your question previously, @CobraBob. #2 is several months OLDER than #1, but came with about 3.5K FEWER miles on the clock. That is a "good news" follow-up, Norton. Amazing that you found another one. Is the mileage on the new Z higher or lower than your old Z?
Agreed. #2 is as close as I could find to #1. Unfortunately for my OCD, there were/are a couple of differences. I moved my Competition Seats (think Shelby Recaros) into #2, that had standard GT Seats (think only slightly better than Shelby Base Seats). It sounds crazy, but I also swapped my hood with a Carbon Flash (metallic black) stinger onto #2, that had a more expensive Carbon Fiber stinger, but Carbon Flash was the trim theme on #1 and switching to Carbon Fiber would have cost me a bundle in aero parts. I skipped swapping my Carbon Flash mirrors, as doing so required disassembling the interior door panels and doing some contortionist stuff inside the doors. Thankfully, my forged monoblok HRE wheels were undamaged in the accident, so those will go on #2 when detailing work is done.Damn, sucks that that happened, but very nice to see that you got an almost carbon-copy replacement for it. Beautiful SHO, and those wheels look(ed) great on it.I don't disagree with women drivers
My wife curbed the 20" MustangFoundry wheels I had put on her SHO. Ruined a gorgeous set of wheels.
