I have this fairly loud slapping noise occurring. It does not happen when the car is idling cold. It only taps one or two times as the car starts up and then nothing. But it really shows up after going for a drive. After about 5 minutes of driving around it starts a steady tapping with the engine revolutions. As I accelerate the tapping goes away, come to a stop and the tapping returns at idle. Once I get the car back home, it will tap for about 5 minutes at idle and then it completely go away. At first, I thought it was a bad pulley because I have had one of those RR manual tensioners for the longest. And adjusting that while the car was running would make the tapping go away. So I pulled the pulleys off and discovered that a bunch of them were going bad. Replaced those, as well as the manual tensioner to the Thump RRR one. Noise is still there so I am unfortunately leaning towards this being an engine issue. I checked for exhaust leaks. Nothing there. Changed the oil because I hear a bad lifter can quiet down a bit when it gets fresh oil. Not sure how true that is, though. Just waiting for the rain to stop and I will take it out and get a video for you guys to listen to. Until then, any ideas what this might be? Things I can troubleshoot while waiting on the rain? Thinking maybe the supercharger is in need of a rebuild since the noise changed / went away when adjusting the tensioner while the car was running?
