Why not? Penzoil gets its bad rep from the 70's but the stuff they make now is pretty good from what I've read on bobistheoilguy.com. I used it before I switched to Amsoil.

I used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum/Black when I had my WRX. It had some of the best OA results out of all of them and it's only $30-$35 for 5 quarts most of the time.

If it's good enough for DBK to run in his 2017 Ford GT, I think it's good enough for most everything else. I personally have had great luck with Mobile 1 and will continue with it, but Pennzoil does have my attention.
