hey guys,
im thinking of going with a novi kit.
which kit should i get?
how do you guys like yours?
what kinda boost and tune do you guys recomend for stock internals?
what kinda good stories do you guys have about supercharging our cars.
Like how many miles and how much hp/tq and what kinda tunes you have on your cars motors.
things of that nature.

pretty much tell me anything thats needed to know about boost.

really the only thing i dont want to hear is "dont boost a car with out forged internals"

thanks
J

the novi 2000 used to ship with a restrictor that limited boost to 8 or 9 psi. im making 15psi on the stock pulley with only a powerpipe.

stock motor won't last long with a novi 2 running full boost even on the stock pulley. If you can get/find a restrictor the novi 2 will work fine.

the novi 1 is good till about 520rwhp and 15psi. Above that, it is out of its compressor efficiency map and it will be pushing mostly hot air.

really depends how far you want to take it.

i really just want to get boosted right now.
i know im gonna get hooked on it and later down the road i will build my moter and probably run gobbs of boost.
right now im just looking to run a safe tune , proabably intercooled at around 8 or 9 psi. is what im thinking.

does that sound good for my stock engine with the mods i have?

8 or 9 psi with a cooler should be ok.

then again, anything can happen.

the point is that without the restrictor the novi 2 will push 14 psi on the stock pulley.

f1 is slightly larger then the d1 at 1525cfm.
At that level they are all about the same.

it would have to be somewhere between the f1 and the f1c

i know you are doing things on a budget, but you sure you wanna scrimp on the bottom end?

you need arp hardware on that thing.

ive been saving money up for awhile now, and i was gonna put more bolt ons on, but all i get is 5rwhp here and there with bolt ons

plus im really sick of being a low 13 sec car.

im pretty much torn right now, ive always told myself i would build my bottom end before boosting.

instead of boosting i could go with a solid rear end and a couple more bolt ons and probably be in the deep 12's

ive just got the itch for boost for some reason.

maybe i can build my bottom end this year and boost next.
( the only thing about that is, I wanna be faster this year.)

boost is really the way to go.

if i had a stock cobra at this point.

I would get an o/r h pipe, a solid rear with 4.30s, and a novi 2000(with restrictor).

That setup would probably make 430rwhp and you would have spent about 4k.
