I installed a aftermarket irs diff cover and had to remove the carrier. I removed the brake cables from calipers and for some reason I can’t see to get enough slack to put them back on. Anybody have a trick to get them back on. Thanks for any feedback

I also noticed that the parking brake lever doesn’t move easy up and down. The cables aren’t connected to the rear calipers.

Make sure the cables aren't pinched or kinked or anything.

I've always used a dull pair of side cutters to slide the cable back into place.

Thanks I’ll try that tomorrow. Weird. All I did was pull them off caliper. They cables now have no play at all.

Got it thanks again. I hit the bracket that’s holds the cable to the lower control arm to hard it was binding right there. We good now.

So. I’m still trying to pull the cable to get into the caliper and there’s not enough play. I did have one line pinched at the bracket that goes to the lower control arm. It’s kinda weird. Because I’ve done this before and I don’t remember it being so damm hard. Is there a adjustment at the parking brake handle.

Another thing.

The position your working in trying to pull cable onto arm.

Caliper bolted on?
Or caliper off and on its side?

For me.
Had mine off many times.
Cable comes off easy and is a pita going back on but have never had to do tension release.

Try with them off

The arm has to be pulled. Being on it’s not going all the way back cause it’s braking.

Understand?

You will need to screw pistons in to install

Got it. I’ll try that out tonight.
