OK. So I the bottom of my hood has always bugged me because it was not painted all the way from Ford.

I saw the thread where 5spd07gt did his hood and figured I would give it a shot.

I purchased my supplies from Automotive Touchup.
Automotivetouchup.com Touch Up Paint, Aerosol Spray Paint and Paint Touch Up Accessories

Here's what I bought:
12oz Aresol of "Torch Red" paint code Ford D3 (Colorado Red. Same thing as Torch Red)
12oz Aresol of High Gloss Clear Coat
2oz Spray Bottle of Prep Solvent Wax and Grease Remover
1 3M Tack Cloth

Total Cost: $39.65

I peeled the stickers with the build dates off and sanded the area down. (Sorry Jeff :()

Then I taped off the area to be painted. I didn't want to do the whole underside, just the area taped off.

I layed down a very light coat of Base Color.

Second coat of Base Color.

And after the 4th and final coat of Base Color.

It is drying now and I am getting ready to shoot the clear in a few minutes. I will update the thread as I progress.

LOl. Thanks Robert.

I was going to have a body shop do it but I figured I would give it a shot. If I didn't like the way it turned out I could just have it done anyway.

I just finished the second coat of clear and it's turning out GREAT!!!!

More pics in a few.

Damn!!, that looks great. Can't wait to see the ones with the clear. Don't worry about the date stickers. I understand, you gotta keep that ultra clean look going.

Looking good! I don't recall mine looking like that...maybe the previous owner already had it touched up.
Maybe. Some had more paint than others from what I have seen. (Mine didn't LOL...)

Lookin' good Kevin, can't wait to see it finished with the clear on it.
Getting ready to post pics.....:-D

looks great, glad i inspired you to do this ;-)
Thanks Nate. I appreciate the inspiration.

LOL.. Thanks Jeff. I actually felt you cringe when I was removing them.

Nice work as always.
Thanks Josh.
