I have an early (and I do mean EARLY 06/02) 03 Coupe. The headliner has holes in it for the vents and there seems to be about a 1/2" drop between the bottom insert and the plastic vent inserts (meaning airflow and drainage is possible but is limited).

My question is:

Was this a factory thing?

Either the previous owner had a steady hand or the headliner is stock. I can't see a trace of hand cutting and the slots in the headliner are about 2 inches wide and curved at the ends. The headliner even appears to be molded to the hood and is a little harder material than your usual matting.

Will post photos once I get the chance.

U mean the Under the Hood Liner right?

Sorry late night.
Its about a 1/2 inch gap & about 5 inches wide if i remember correctly.

U can get rid of it by just pulling down. The tabs u can re-use them if u still want to keep the Under Hood Liner.

Sorry,

I am tired. I guess we'd be getting rained on with the headliners open and all.
