I have an mmr 800 with all the goodies with about 35k miles on it and its also boosted (idk if that matters) and it needs an oil change. The previous owner never told me what oil he used so I'm taking to the forum for assistance. what do you guys recommend? synthetic preferred.

doesnt change anything, its about bearing clearance etc... id call mmr personally

Yeah no. I'll bet money MMR isn't deviating from standard bearing clearance guidelines and specs on a street engine. Doing so would be a disaster in situations like this for starters.

Additionally I doubt MMR is changing journal finishes and subsequently clearances to require thicker or thinner oils. Hell they probably can't even tell OP anything specific about the engine in the car, he probably knows more about it then they do.

What everyone else has said......call MMR and get their recommendation. Quick phone call and you can get on with the oil change.

I doubt they know anything about his motor in particular either but Id imagine theyre recommending the same thing for all of em. I mean these are the guys that supposedly don't even use torque wrenches and dot-to-dot their cams
