So I am in the process of installing an actual oil pressure gauge on my 99 gt instead of the dummy light that ford thought was a good idea to put in. I got the sensor and gauge and was about to put it in but I realized that it was the wrong size threads. I couldn't find the size online so if anyone has installed a gauge before please let me know what npt size it is because so far, it is not 1/8.

If you're talking about the plug on the bottlem of the oil filter adapter it's 1/4 NPT/MIP. I just measured mine and compared it to a 1/4 NPT/MIP fitting and it was a dead match.

You can also take a look at the install instructions for the pressure lubed S trim blowers. The parts list will have the elbow for the oil feed system listed.

@thelonebean. Here is a screen shot from vortechs install instructions. 1/4 NPT/MIP no doubt about it.

I totally forgot about the plug at the bottom, I was just going to replace the factory sender. Thank you so much for this

Don't get crazy tightening the new sensor. The casting is thin and will crack easily. Been there done that removing my old vortech.

I was just gonna post this - those thread types are tapered so you probably do NOT run it all the way in. I broke the oil cooler on my Mach that way...$150 mistake if I remember right

I definitely will not do that. I'll keep in mind that they are npt fitting and I'm going to be using thread sealant as well so it should be all good but I'll let you know haha

Get the Stewart Warner thick film 279b F sensor. The others will fail over time...Otherwise you will go through several of the other cheap wiper arm type sensors.
