My 2018 F150 3.5L EB truck is coming up on 2K miles, so it got me to thinking, it might be time for an oil change soon.

But, I looked at the owners' manual, and it says the first recommended change is at 10K miles! Can that be right? Is anyone actually following that schedule? If not, what interval are you guys going with?

Depends on a few things. Synthetic designed for extended oil changes, filter and if you lease or own.

If leasing, change when recommended by manufacturer.

If owned, select a synthetic oil specifically capable of extended oil changes 10k-15k+ (Eg: Castrol, Mobil 1, Amsoil or OEM synthetic) and choose a filter good for extended oil drain filtration.

Personally, I use Amsoil oil and filter and change when when indicated to do so. I changed the very first time at 3k.
