This UOA is unrelated to the GT500 community, but it is another testament to Amsoil's quality. This may be of some interest to the Ford/Chevy/Dodge diesel truck owners who post here. This sample was taken from a 2008 Chevrolet 2500HD 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel. The truck has a lift kit, custom wheels, aftermarket exhaust system (DPF delete), and aftermarket tuning. It's been six months and 6,000 miles since this oil was poured into the sump, and the results are better than anything I have ever seen before. The amazing part is...there is no bypass filtration system on this truck. The lubricant tested is Amsoil DME 15W-40 and an Amsoil EaO52 screw on oil filter. Wear metals are extremely low. I've never seen them this low on a 6,000 mile interval without a bypass filtration system installed. Viscosity is consistent @ 14.4 cSt and it's still a 40 grade lubricant. Virgin specs are 14.6 cSt, so this lubricant only sheared 1%, very nice! That little shearing could be the difference in testing environment, meaning it actually did not shear at all. TBN is still healthy @ 6.79, virgin specs are 10.4. This lubricant will easily achieve a 15,000 mile oil change interval or one year, which is the schedule I told the owner to use. There have been documents warning 2007+ diesel truck owners about fuel dilution problems. The owner had this sample taken to see if fuel dilution was a problem, but this report indicates everything is perfect. No fuel dilution problem here. Any of you guys that have a diesel truck wanting to minimize oil changes, yet protect your truck better than ever, you really should try this lubricant.
