Okay all,

Got the marker lights painted and everything assembled. Had to figure it out. First time I built one of these. The stance was wrong. I'm used to the Cobra's and the suspension goes on top of the springs. Well, I had the GT looking like a 4x4 and learned the springs go on top of the suspension in this set up. Oh well, I got it figured out and here are the results.

I know this one looks dark, but wanted to post it because you can see a glimpse of the green hue

I remember back in 1998 when I was heavy into collecting 1:24 scale NASCAR diecast models. These were from Action RCCA. There was a 1998 Jeff Gordon Chromalusion diecast with color changing paint. Back then, it was big news and everyone wanted one. Me included. The color shifts weren’t as grand as Mystichrome, though.

1998 is when I started collecting Bob. I walked into a hobby shop and seen a 1:24 scale funny car by Action of a 1997 John Force Mustang paint scheme. Bought it and was hooked from then on. The detail was cool, but has only gotten better. I stopped collecting John Force once he started driving for Chevy, but the diecast Mustang passion remains LOL.

This is the one that started the madness LOL.

Funny you mention the Force FC hooking you. That is pretty much what happened to me. I bought a Force FC (different than yours) from Action RCCA at a local diecast store. My conversation with the owner got me hooked. Over the next couple of years I accumulated over 75 Action RCCA premium diecast (Nascar and NHRA), and Danbury Mint/Franklin Mint 1:24 scale muscle cars from the '60s and '70s. I knew a guy in Tennessee who had a garage full of diecast models. I hope he unloaded them before the market on them dropped like a lead weight. A lot of guys lost a ton of money on collectible diecast. The only diecast models I have left are some 1:43 muscle cars. I have them in a neat '60s fast food drive-in diorama. Here are a few that I have. These aren't my photos, but I have all of these models in my diorama. The nice thing is they don't take up a lot of room, unless my old 1:24 collection.

Looking for a 2007, 2008 Mustang Calif Special GT in white.
My son has the real car and I would like to give hm the model for Christmas.
I did find where the 2007 was made, but not in production now. Maybe someone has one for sale.
Thanks for any help.

Hello Railroad. I did a quick search and found that Autoart did produce a 2007 GT/CS. However, I could not find any for sale.

Okay All,

I know this might be a little premature, but as of May 2020 I will have been doing this hobby for 3 years. I have had a great time doing it and really appreciate everyone's support.

However, I have re-evaluated my priorities and have decided that my 65 Coupe has sat without a drive train long enough. So, starting in July of 2020 I will start a thread in the "Classic Mustangs" section providing pictures as I rebuild my 65.

Since I will be dedicating all my free time to that project I will have to put the diecast hobby on hold.

So, if you want a diecast or you know anyone who might want a diecast I will stop doing this in June of 2020. Once my 65 is complete I will most likely start doing this again, but I do not know when that will be. Based on my plans for my 65 I'm guessing it will take me and my brother around 14 months to complete the project only working on the car on weekends.

My intent is to take my 65 Coupe to Mustangs by the Bay car show in San Diego, CA in October of 2021.... God willing...……...

I'm NOT leaving SVTP. Only switching projects and thread locations :D……….

Okay all,

Between the back and forth in the "other" thread, I managed to get a lot of work done over the weekend.

Made progress on all three cars since the weather was on the warm side here.

Lightning...……….

Owner wants this one SM with aluminum wheels (Not chrome).

I was able to get the Ford GT in base coat. This is called Sunburst Pearl with black stripes and SM center stripe. I still have to do some clean up on this, but overall I think it came out pretty cool.

Okay everyone,

It was pretty nice here over the weekend, so I was able to make some progress on the builds.

Got the decals installed on the Lightning and got it clear coated.
