    Okay all,

Received the SY Vert back yesterday. Not sure how this happened. I packed the car and sent it off. It arrived with a chip. You can clearly see the car in the box before being sent off and no chip.

Also, for some reason the paint I used on the interior (which is the same paint I have used for other builds) had some sort of reaction. The paint is supposed to be matte black, but for some reason the paint became wet and would not dry and looked glossy. Therefore, it was tacky (I'll post pictures of this later).

Anyway, I'm getting it fixed up so it can be sent back to the owner.

As mentioned before, I make these posts so everyone knows it's not always perfect. Things happened whether they be chips or scratches or paint reacting to something and causing problems or parts coming off due to improper glue adhesion. The bottom line is issues can always be fixed and I appreciate peoples patience and support while working with me to allow me to make it right.

    Thank you!

Okay here is the car on my display "BEFORE" being shipped to customer.

    Okay everyone,

Made some progress on the SY Vert repairs:

    Chip sanded out
    20190715_184624_resized.jpg

Area prepped and base coat sprayed
    20190716_163402_resized.jpg

Clear coat applied and unmasked. Next will be cut and buff.

Here are the seat. You can see yellow flakes from the chip in the seats and how glossy they are from the reaction. SY 01.JPG

    SY 02.JPG

    SY 03.JPG

Here are the seats after repair. Old paint was removed. Then seats were primed, Cobra was added and the final matte black paint was applied. They look "right" now. 20190716_181413_resized.jpg

Well, unfortunately during the disassembly process I noticed there was another chip on the SY Vert. I repaired that chip while I was working on the initial chip.

    Chip.

Since I can cut and buff while sitting in front of the TV I decided to get painting done over the weekend.

    Started on an OW Coupe.

Thanks Henry!!! Yes and it's as stressful too LMAO!!! However, I've been lucky, and besides initial problems, things normally work out once it's fixed.

    Okay,

As mentioned, I'm sitting in front of the TV and cutting and buffing the cars in the evening. My intent is to cut and buff one car a night. So, I should have them all polished up by the end of this week so I can begin the reassembly process.

Here are some comparison pics of the CO cars. One is cut and buffed and the other is not. Can you tell which is which (I'm pretty sure the guys on this site can LMAO)?

If you look really close you can see the reflection of my fingers just below the flash of my phone on the front part of the hood.
    20190722_190121_resized.jpg

I was looking at the car this morning. Had to snap a pic of the reflection in the roof (Don't mind the trunk. There's some dust from sitting overnight).

When I first started this thread I asked people to tell me what color they wanted me to paint the very first Cobra diecast I ever did.

The below quote is still one of the funniest responses I have read in this thread. Too damn funny.

Yes sir Chris. That CO paint glistens after it has been polished. I love looking at light reflecting off the paint LOL. It's hard work cutting and buffing these cars by hand, but the end result is well worth it.

    ^excellent work sir.

not to go off topic. i have a red terminator. I want to put big and littles on it, or swap wheels in general. Where is the best place to find the wheels?

Thank you! Really appreciate the feedback! I normally find most of my stuff on eBay, but have found stuff from diecast companies by just doing a Google search.

Of note, I have learned through the years that removing wheels from the Maisto axles is a real pain in the _ _ _! Also, the axles are prone to break/snap during the removal process. Make sure you are VERY careful, spray a liberal amount of lubrication in the hub area and watch some videos on youtube before attempting to remove wheels.

Here is a Drag set up I've done.
