A Scotsman was new to Canada and went to his first Blue Jays game. The
crowd
roared when a batter connected with a base hit, everyone screaming, "RUN!
RUN!
". The Scotsman thought he understood the game, the idea being to hit the
ball
with yon stick and then run around the pathway marked out on the field.
When
another batter got a double, he was ready, and boomed out in a huge voice,
"RUN YE' GREAT BASTAHRD, RUN!!"
The fans around him laughed and clapped for his tremendous voice. He
settled
in to have another beer, and waited for the next action. This being
baseball,
he had a pretty good wait, so when he saw a batter toss the bat behind him
and
start jogging toward 1st, his voice rang out, " RUN FASTER YE' FOOL!" He
suddenly realized that no one else was shouting along. The girl seated next
to
him whispered, "He doesn't have to run, He's got four balls."
The Scotsman stood and shouted, " WALK W' PRIDE, MAN!!!"
