Lol they found the pilot in no time… you would think a huge fireball and wreckage wouldn’t be too far from him and fairly easy to find… it is possible it flew on for a bit after ejection. I am really interested to see further details of our tax dollars hard at work.

Yeah now that the story has been updated with some location details, sounds like he was around some lakes. I didn’t know it, but apparently the Marine variant can auto-eject without pilot input if the plane is in a hover and it suddenly has power problems etc..

Speaking of, did you see the initial report of the Mig23 that recently crashed at the airshow in Michigan? Apparently the back-seat observer initiated the ejection sequence for both occupants. Sounds like the PIC wasn't even ready to bail. Lol
