While I understand the point being made by the Trump post and while I am not going to be voting for him I just wanted to look in to it. Supposedly he started with about $200k out of college in 68 (from pops). He then inherited anywhere from $40-200million from his Dad in 99. According to Forbes he was worth $1.6 Billion in 99. So we'll make his 99 net worth 1.4bil just in case they counted the inheritance toward his worth. 200k to 1.4 billion in 31yrs is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more growth than having 200k principal with compounding interest at 10% for 31yrs. Putting the inheritance (200mil max estimate) in compounding interest at 10% growth for 16yrs yes would give him over 8bil. I guess all he did from 99 to 2015 was turn 1.6bil in to 2.9bil. It's not like he lost it
