By all accounts, this thing will be >4K#, which is getting up there. Definitely heading in the wrong direction. Whatever the FCA competitor is, it will only be an aluminum block away from significantly closing the mass gap. On a 15+ year old chassis to boot.

It will still be stupid fast, but can’t get around the fact that it will likely be very hard on consumables.

If you track seriously you are likely to have made camber adjustments, etc, to extend tire life. And the brakes on this car, similar but even larger than those on the GT350, last longer (especially the factory rotors) than ever before.

The big one will be how robust is the DCT and how good is the thermal management system design. And for that matter, will the GT500 be able to be pushed hard for 20 minutes on a given warm day at the track without going into limp mode.

I’m holding out hope for 755-760hp.

I know from @13COBRA that 725-740hp is a lock, but I think ford might be playing with 1 extra psi of boost to see if they can swing it.

    Also, just for bragging rights:
455hp Chevy vs 460hp Ford is done.
485hp dodge vs 526hp Ford is done.
755hp Chevy vs 760hp Ford is nice.

    My guess from Dec '18:

    740HP / 680TQ
    4075 lbs
    $67,995 base price

Could Ford be holding out to drop those GT500 #s until sometime around 07/18/19 to try and take a little bit of thunder away from the C8 chebby...just sayin

It will be a wolf clothed in sheep’s skin.

They finally cracked the ecu in the new ZR1 corvettes and guys are trapping close to 150 already. It’s insane.

The new 500 shares the same blower albeit with a much more efficient motor in the 5.2 “coyote on steroids”.

In stock form there will be tons of meat left on the bone.

The new 500 will absolutely not disappoint in bolt-on/e85 form.

To be more specific you are indeed correct. The three EO's that just got posted were all Transit Vans. I'll be certain to be more detailed as they get issued.

I know how much everyone here loves to point out when people are wrong...so, with that said, they were actually for 3 vans, 4 wagons and 1 USPS vehicle.
