I’m watching falling leaves as I sit here on my deck. Not a lot (lawn was mowed Monday), but they’ve started.

It’s really dry here (no rain) so I’m wondering if that might cause the early falling of leaves.
It's been very dry out here as well.
We did get some rain last night into this morning.

Philly (area) here, nothing significant changing yet but my black walnut is dropping leaves and walnuts. Always last to bloom and first to drop.

Still no color changes here. Well, just yellow. But a lot of leaves are falling from my trees and from my neighbors’ trees. I’m convinced this is happening here because we’ve had a very dry July, August and September.

Same here Bob.
Mostly yellow and dropping. Not a lot, but they are dropping.

Went out yesterday afternoon beautiful day, tee shirt weather.
I leave right from my house.

My buddy caught me on his trail cam.

The weather clowns claim that because New England had such a dry summer, colors might be "muted" or some crap like that.
It's not a claim or crap, Andy. It's true! A dry summer can negatively impact fall leaf color by stressing trees, which may lead to earlier leaf drop and less vibrant colors. Ideally, a combination of cool nights and sunny days in the fall is needed for the best color display.

Meanwhile, our leaves here are pretty much just turning brownish yellow and falling rapidly.
