I’m sticking to my guns on this one. OP, have you swapped to a known good TFI module? No start when hot is a classic symptom of a heat soaked TFI module.
Does it die on you while driving? If so, that’s more proof of heat soaked TFI.
If you swapped TFI’s, don’t rule out the fact the new TFI could be faulty out of the box. Ask me how I know.
I had the same problem last year. Brand new motorcraft tfi module was bad right out of the box. Car would start, run for 5-15 seconds then shut off.

I have no idea how old my current one is, but it still works.

This reminds me, I bought another motorcraft one from rock auto. It's still got a warranty, I'll have to test it this spring.

The new Motorcraft TFI modules are seriously hit or miss. There probably isn't a big market for these anymore, so the cheapest bidder got the contract. Likely Chinese junk. If you look hard enough and are willing to spend the money, you can still find the old "good" Motorcraft TFI units.
