Good lord, $300 for one R888?

The NT05's aren't even $200.

I cant imagine the R888's compensating for that $100 just by how well they hook.

I paid 325 for 315's but that's a drop in the bucket compared to my 19" on the Lexus ISF I had paid 560 per corner over 2k for just rubber crazy!

I wouldn't drive on NT05's in a torrential downpour. R888 grip nice in wet conditions.

I've driven NT05s all around in a hard rain with no issue.

They won't hold my 545rwhp from a stop, but they are also a 20". On the road course they are fantastic.

I paid around 1,040 for all 4 tires and never looked back. I got use to them even on street this is on a 17" rim

My R888s hook, and well too lol, plus they drive great even when its raining, and they seem to be wearing slowly, already have 5000 miles on it (Cobra is my DD) and not much appreciable wear. These cars are sports cars, if you want good handling, good grip and all around drivability, its going to cost a bit, and the only connection your car has with the road is your tires. Buy the R888. They will be my next set of tires as well

R888's are great and hook nicely but I had to drive to work with them almost at the wear bars. It was raining and a lil bit standing water was on the road. I counted the rear breaking loose almost 20 times over a 20 min drive. I'm sure they would have done better at full tread or even half. Too bad you can't find $300 pairs on ebay anymore :(

Any tire will be questionable at that tread depth, especially looking at the pic of the tread pattern of the R888's. I haven't run them, so I don't have an opinion on those tires. I have run the 555r's and the NT05r's. The NT05r's are not meant for rain even when new. The 555r's were all that I ran on my 93 GT and I have run a set on my 03 Cobra. They were fine in the rain until they were at or below the tread bar. That includes 75+ in hard rain with standing water. Those were the only drag radials that were worth anything in the rain that I have driven.

I'm running NT-05's on my '97 Cobra. I love them. I paid under $900 shipped for them. 275/35-18's.

Im running the 05/05R set up now. They are great in the dry. I got caught in the rain. And the 05R's are not a rain tire at all. Horriable manners in the rain!

I wish Nitto would release the NT05 in a 315/30/18. 295 is their widest for 18s wtf
