Matt,

Do you have any info on the Nitto 420s? I need tires soon for my Trailblazer SS AWD and want to make sure this tire would work for a daily driver. I keep reading mixed reviews. How long does this tire last? Can it be driven in the snow? Not that we see a ton of snow in Baltimore, MD, but I don't want to have any major issues in case I get caught in a storm this winter.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Tom

For your use I would recommend looking at the Nitto 421Q, Yokohama Parada Spec X or Falken S/TZ-05. These will do a little better in the winter than the 420s.

Link to all tires in the 255/50R20 size: 255/50R20 Tire options

Thanks Travis! I didnt even notice the Nitto 421 Q. They look like a good tire. One more quick question...I know the stock tire size is 255-50-20, but a lot of TBSS guys run 265-50-20 Nitto 420s. They look good. Are the 421Q 265-50-20 measure the same as the 420s?

Thanks,

Tom

According to Nitto's spec sheets, the 265/50-20 NT421Q is 30.47" tall and 11.89" wide. The 265/50-20 NT420S is 30.47" tall and 10.91 wide"

Thanks for the info! So the 421 Q is actually wider! Hmm I wonder if they would be okay on the stock 20x8 wheels. No one on TBSS owners runs them yet because I guess they are new?

The 265/50-20 is approved for an 8" wide wheel so you shouldn't have any issues with this size on you SS, even with it being almost an inch wider when compared to the 265/50-20 NT420S. Like you noted, the NT421Q is new to the market.
