Hey guys I am new to this section of the forum. I have a 98 cobra with most bolt ons. I live in PA around Phili and would like to start autocrossing. Where is a good place to look for a schedule of events and can anyone give me tips for my first time out. I like curves much better than straights. Thanks for the help guys.

Rat. Nice post. I've been snooping around tirerack for years and have found that they really have lots of "nooks and crannies" with gems of info like on their site. Never ran across this one.

Rat. That was a very helpful site. I very much look forward to going to my first event this year. Guys how do our cars typically do at these events? I mean are we against porsches or other mustangs, camaros, and firebirds? Thanks for the help.

Go here for your local stuff - http://www.phillyscca.com/ - the winter series will get you started. I ran my '01 cobra vert my first season but switched to a fox body. Seat time is all important - more so than mods to the car until you know the limits. I'd advise taking some of the driving classes offered by the local clubs/chapters and don't forget Evolution Driving schools - http://autocross.com/evolution/ A side benefit of the schools is that you generally get tons of seat time - 30 - 40 runs in a day. A typical A/X event is pretty limited - generally 3 - 4 runs. At that rate, it will take a very long time to get "seat time." Good luck and more importantly, have fun.
