Hi all, I'm Chris from England, thanks for letting me join from across the pond..

I have 2 classic fastback mustangs (67 and 70 Mach 1).

Even though I'm over the pond I'm looking to buy GT500, ideally a 13/14 if my budget allows, but likely a 10-12 year model (having to sell my 67 to fund a GT500)

I'm not to fussed for it's modified or not, just always wanted a Shelby. Being over here will mean it won't be easy but should be worth it.

Hopefully I won't ask too many dumb questions for an English guy !
Cheers
Chris

Welcome to SVTP, Chris. Your two Mustangs sound nice, so definitely post some photos when you can. Enjoy this great site and its numerous forums of interest.

Do you get a lot of looks? Last time I visited over there I saw several Mustangs ranging from 1994-2015 in England proper, and a 1964 convertible outside Royal Albert.

Having a Fastback guarantees loads of looks and compliments, most folks seem to recognise a classic mustang and love it

Welcome Chris! Beautiful Mustangs you have there. While it sucks to hear youd have to sell one to fund a GT500, I think you'd enjoy it a whole hell of a lot. You might want to hold off until the Unicorn, I mean 2020 GT500 is launched. There may be more of a used selection to choose from as I think there will be many that want to upgrade.

Im partial to my 2011 in Race Red, but any year GT500 is sure to plaster a smile across your face! And lucky you, your closer to the Autobahn than many of us are. :D

Thanks for the welcome and yes it will be a bind to have to sell the 67 I think it will be well worth it.

Good point around used stock availability, When does the 2020 model gets launched ?

Looking forward to using it for tours to Europe including high speed blasts on the Autobahn

Haha, that's the $64,000 question. My guess is that the next North American auto show will be the official reveal of the GT500 with sales starting in the summer of 2019 for model year 2020. Assuming of course they don't hold the launch up.

My *hope* is that they launch the GT500 with an R spec model for later in the model year. Whats known is it will be a 5.2L cross-plane version of the GT350 engine, TVS 2650 supercharger with all in one intercooler, most likely a DCT transmission and massive brakes.

It should motivate some current GT500 owners to the new car. :D
