I did have a gen 2 gt500 2.3 setup. When I bought my gen 3 I actually had it come with the accufab plenum because it was cheaper and slapped on my gen 2 gt500 plenum to my gen 3 tvs and it matched up perfectly. The revised gen 3 gt500 bigger plenum came out a little while later and cnc porting the case came out at that time that matched the new inlet. The gen 3 results weren't as impressive as vmp had hoped so they came out with their own larger silicone cold air intake, new plenum, and cnc ported case to help make it perform. Fyi the new plenum sucks to install unless you grind a lot of material off one bolt hole it's virtually impossible to install. After grinding it and getting the right Allen wrench it's a 5 min install again.
