if it's a model made for black friday then yes, it will be cheaper but seems to vary in how they drop the price. Sometimes it's something stupid like not as many HDMI or USB inputs.

the last tv I bought from Costco on black Friday was a unit they usually carry throughout the year and was just a little cheaper than normal. I actually ended up with a smaller vizio vs the samsung or whatever else I was looking at because the samsung wasn't going to support upcoming changes in 4k and something else (basically obsolete when you bought it) whereas the vizio wouldnt natively support it but would at least display the content with a firmware update.
Maybe it’s just something they say to customers but when I bought my last tv from Costco the salesperson told me they’re the same TVs on the inside they put less hdmi ports or minor other details is because everyone price matches now for identical models so that way you can’t go in to Best Buy and demand the price from the big box stores.

I have several 4K Samsung TVs and one 65" 4K LG. Samsung sound quality as far as I have heard is superior to LG and that's the case with my TVs also. But I have had two Samsung screens develop screen defects.

And I have seen online that others have had issues with Samsung. They also jerked me around when I tried to get them to fix it and it is still not resolved. I can use the screen but it rubs me the wrong way. I personally am done with Samsung and will be looking at LG or others in the future.

same reason you won't find the same model number on other appliances either. I was looking for a new fridge and it was very rare to find the same exact model number even though it's clearly the same ****ing thing

Can’t get a OLED or QLED the size he wants for under $1500
The LG A1 can be had for $1,599 but you want the C or G series. The C1 is on sale at Amazon and Costco for $1,749 right now. If I were the OP I would save up a little or wait for something to pop up on Amazon Warehouse. They have a 2020 65" BX for $1,500 right now.

Same. I have a 4K OLED in one room and a 1080 Plasma in the other.....the plasma looks just as good from normal viewing distances.

My Panny was replaced by a Samsung Q70 75" for my living room.

IMO the VT60 looks better in pretty much everything non HDR.

That VT model was one of the best TVs as far as picture quality. The ZT was better however not really a fair comparison. For the price range OP wants not sure why OLED comes up. My opinion nothing beats the OLED however big price difference.

Depends on which OLED as they are not all equal. Panny made an incredible plasma though. I loved my ZT but it finally took a dump. My current OLED is quite a bit better then the ZT especially black levels.

Bought a new 77" LG OLED about 7 months ago and and absolutely love it! A bit pricey, but what a huge jump from my old Sony 55" XBR3.

Those will have poorer quality then the QLED. Not to mention the screen burn in.

People were scared of screen burn in on plasmas too. I have one that is 15 years old and another that is 10 years old. No burn in issues.

When one breaks OLED all the way, LCD (even QLCD) does not display colors correctly in my opinion.

Funny you don't want Vizio.
I've had Samsung and LG, neither one lasted over 18 months.
I have a couple Vizio TVs and they have lasted me quite a while, and the picture is great too.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

I ended up with a 65 inch Sony Bravia UHD LED. I almost went with a Samsung QLED. The picture quality between the two was closer than I expected which helped the decision.

I was ready to drop the extra coin on the Samsung but the wife brought up a great point in that we don't watch a lot of TV. We also limit the kids unless they are sick and we watch one movie a week at best.

Overall I am happy with this Sony. Much better picture than our old 55 inch TCL and the home screen is easier to navigate. We also love the remote as the old Roku remote was temperamental and sensitive to where you pointed it, drove us nuts.

No I get to try and fix the old 55 for a garage TV!

I think it all boils down to personal experience. I've had a Vizio that barely lasted a year and two TCLs that crapped out in the same way.

Had to put up a TV or two in the garage so was considering upgrading our living room 60" to a much better/bigger tv and moving the 60" to the garage. The 60 was just too big for my spot(s) in the garage, would've been way too close to it at my benches.

Ended up putting a 50" Vizio and a 40" Vizio in the garage, both from Walmart. Great pic quality for garage tvs and will handle what I use them for (football on weekends and background noise, radar display/extra computer monitor when I'm in there working).

I've found that the best prices on tvs are at Costco or Walmart.

Won't buy a "black friday" TV anymore, quality has always disappointed me with these units in the past.

Also been my experience that the best deals for tvs are found around Superbowl time.
