So we headed out to the track to get a crack at the 5.0 with a pair of MT 265/40/18 I was hoping for a 12.50 and relieved I was able to hit that mark. My 5.0 is 6spd equipped with the 3:73 gears package and gt500 AB & Ive removed the resonators.
First run was a 12.57@108 followed by a 12.47@109 my trap speeds are low I'm guessing because I need to shift into 5th right around the 1/8th or so??
My car is lowered on sport lines 60fts were 1.78 and 1.73 our track isn't the best out there.

Those are pretty stout numbers for the time of year and stock configuration. You were shifting into 5th at the 1/8th?

mostlikely he is thinking the 1000ft mark is the 1/8 mile mark.

That tire is only 26.3 inches high. That is giving you more gear. Try a 28 inch tire and you won't have to shift into 5th.

Yeah but what was your mph going thru the beams at the 1/8? And what track eir or sar?

Excellent advice.

The only downside to that advice is that I highly doubt with out power mods, LCAs and of course reloc. brackets Ill be able to push 28s down the track.
