Doesn't that little air dam just attach with black plastic push on clips?

Yes, but the 94-5 deflector is lower than the replacement version for 96+. They were constantly getting ripped off so Ford made it shorter.

This is the first I have ever heard of the R receiving a unique cat pipe or cat back. The headers were specific and came down lower to make up for the extra deck height. This was done to allow an OEM GT/Cobra cat pipe and cat back to be used to save on engineering dollars.

Where are you getting this info from?

Ford parts dot com in the parts index, also conversations I had with Jim at PPI. I was looking for parts to hoard for both my cobras 94 and 95R.

I tried aftermarket off-road h pipe for my 95 R and it did not fit without modification.
