A few weeks ago, I scooped up a Cervini Cobra R hood. I originally was just going to get the hood painted, but i decided to do the whole car so it would match better....and i had a few blemishes and bad spots to take care of. Stripping it down I decided to do some custom paintwork underneath the hood, so I got some templates made up and we layed them on top of some silver flake. And covered it in black Things were starting to snowball now....since we were repainting the car, I wanted to see if we could roll the rear fenders. I was originally running 335/30R20s on my custom widened forgestar F14s 20x11.75 rims. They fit, but they did rub occasionally and they did stick out from the fender about 1/8th inch. I was hoping to get just enough to cover the wheels, but it was going so well, we ended up flaring the rear quarters about 5/8" . After some reasearch and some calculations, I now had enough room to fit some 345/30R20s...which are about 3/8" wider than a 335....with a small wheel spacer. Mounted on car and test fitting. this is a 3mm spacer(.118")....i ended up going with a 1/4" spacer In the booth getting painted. we did the black base coat with 2 coats of clear, wetsanded the whole car and did 2 more coats of clear. Then began the polishing I also had the headlights and fog lights lightly smoked Final results I'm really happy with how it turned out The flare are so subtle you wouldnt know they wernt factory.
