The MMR GT500 oil cooler kit replaces the entire factory cooler/alternator bracket assembly with a lightweight, high efficiency air/oil cooler. This drastically reduces coolant temperatures increasing detonation resistance allowing for more boost, more power and ultimately lower oil temps for better reliability and engine life. Great For those Turbo applications where removal of the factory bracket/cooler gives more clearance for custom headers etc. Highly recommended for ALL modified GT500's and Mandatory for Road Racing and Texas Mile type events. Includes all parts needed along with high quality braided stainless steel lines and AN fittings along with new MMR Billet Alternator bracket and Billet block adapter. Also includes new HIGHER capacity oil filter. 100% USA MADE

Our customers generally mount the cooler parallel with the ground in the front bumper at the bottom, it simply needs to see air (cant be blocked), but we include enough braided hose for many different installation locations. Those looking for suggestions are welcome to call anytime and we can discuss your type of use (road race, street, texas mile etc).

How does this compare to the 2013 track pack oil cooler?

While it is a slight upgrade over stock it is nothing in comparison to the cooler used in our kit, keep in mind, the track pack is also still a liquid/oil cooler so it heats/exchanges temperatures with the coolant. Separating it like the MMR kit does lowers both coolant and oil temps (coolant roughly 9 degrees and oil over 30 degrees!)

Sorry, but the 2013 track pack oil cooler is an external air to oil, oil cooler. Much like the kit that you're selling. The base 2013 package uses a liquid/coolant to oil, oil cooler.

Actually we were referring to the 5.0 track pack/ BOSS cooler which IS a water/oil cooler which some of our GT500 owners were adapting for additional cooling. The 2013 GT500 cooler is air to oil as you have mentioned but uses a smaller heat exchanger than the MMR piece.

The major difference is the silicone anti drain back valve on the 820, being that most mount the filter upright with a relocation kit this does not play any other performance role. The advantages to the FL1A is higher filter surface media and increased capacity.

Most remote filter mounts from MMR or other companies use the FL1A and it is almost the industry standard. Just like an airfilter the bigger the better (more filtration with less pressure drop). One of the reasons the 820 was introduced was its smaller size in tight applications.

We use the FL1A on all of the team cars here and have always had great success with them.

I'm looking for a upper intake for turbo application and everything to build my engine. About 1200 to 1400 HP. I have a block and crank. Will need everything else. PM me so we can put something together. Get it done in one shot. Thanks Tim

Do we have to extend the wires for the oil pressure sending unit?
Not sure where the sensor mounts.... Thanks

Great question! We have added the sensor boss to the filter mount, depending on where you mount it will dictate whether the single wire requires lengthening or not. We do supply a small section of wire and connectors for this.

What are the dimensions of the cooler? Since our heat exchangers are below the bumper, I don't that location is going to work.

The cooler is 10x12 and they fit great , they do not go vertical with the radiator or heat exchanger in the main grill openings. For custom applications they can even be mounted under the car, they simply need to have air movement across the fins (doesnt have to be through them )
