I am too young, but to any of the older members when exactly did this start?

Were people paying ADM or over market to order 2003 cobras?…

How about 1993 cobras?? Did they actually sell at sticker?

I don’t remember it on c6 or c7 Z06s, but now c8 z06 gets 100k adm

No, I paid sticker for my 03 and I ordered it. Brought it home July 02.

I purchased an 04 Cobra and a 14 Raptor...I didn't pay over sticker for either.

Id assume people back then didnt have as much disposable income as they do now strangely. Plus back then interest rates kept the purchase prices low. Nowadays youd think that would start applying again, but the "gotta have it now" generation buys anyways instead of letting these cars sit on lots until the sell price matches its real worth.

Back in 2008 when I bought my first Shelby the dealership I went to first had a $10,000 markup. I ended up buying it for $2500 under MSRP.

I'm the third owner of my Cobra. Picked it up in 2006. Original owner, a doctor in Bellevue, paid an adjusted market value of $7995

I have never paid more than sticker for a car
So many idiots were basically bragging that they paid markup over the pandemic.

My stepdad is an auto worker so I qualify for the discounts. if I'm not getting a massive discount I'm not buying!

For ford the earliest i can remember it happening was when the shelby's came out in either 06 or 07 (early release of the 07?)- - dose this sound correct?

Yep!! That's when I remember it being a HUGE deal.
I know quite a few guys that paid over for an '07 GT500.

BUT!!! Don't forget at the time there was a very strong rumor that it was to be a super short/limited run and if you wanted one...you had to get it at any cost, right now!(And then they built 10,000 of them)

I bought my '07 in '09 from a guy that flipped houses in Long Island...his business went to shit and he had to liquidate.
His wife was PISSED he paid $20K over!(she found out after the fact) I told her it wasn't his fault, many guys were mislead and paid over. She actually calmed down after that and he was super thankful. lol

Some/many dealers DID add an ADM to the early 2003 Cobra stickers. I know for a fact that in late 2002, most Ford dealers in CT were marking the 2003 Cobra up by $3K to $5K. I was in the market then for a 2003 Cobra and after searching the state finally found a small Ford dealership in northern CT that was selling them at MSRP. I gladly drove 50 minutes to deal with that dealership.
